Thousands of residents poured out on the Maros Cultural Kirab

FAJAR.CO.ID, MAROS – The cultural carnival which is a series of Gau Maraja cultural festivals and commemoration of the 66th anniversary of Maros Regency, Thursday, June 3, 2025.

Inu’s activities were attended by around 5,000 residents. They seemed to crowd the streets of Maros.

The participants wore traditional clothing typical from various regions, walking for almost three kilometers from the house position of the Regent of Jalan Ahmad Yani to the Pallantikang Field.

Maros Regent, As Chaidir Syam, together with Deputy Regent of Muetazim Mansyur appeared to walk in the middle of the carnival participants.

Chaidir said this activity became a forum for strengthening the relationship and preserving cross -regional culture.

“Almost all customary institutions, kekarangan, as well as representatives from 14 sub -districts in Maros joined in enlivening this carnival. There were Malay family harmony, participants from Japan, to regional representatives such as Sidrap, Bone, and East Luwu,” he explained.

In addition to the carnival, the Heritage Bilah Bilan exhibition was also held, including a collection of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

The series of events was also filled with international symposiums which were attended by 540 participants from 12 countries.

“This symposium presents Australian researchers known as inventor of a number of ancient sites in the Leang-Leang region,” he concluded. (rin)
