FAJAR.CO.ID, SURABAYA – The government through the Indonesian Parliament and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) continues to intensify the socialization of the Free Nutritious Eating Program (MBG) at the Gading Village Hall, Surabaya, Saturday (6/14).
As many as 300 people received direct education about the importance of balanced nutritional intake and healthy eating patterns. Member of the House of Representatives Commission IX Arzeti Bilbina stressed the importance of fulfilling children’s nutrition from an early age to support optimal growth.
He also invited the public to care about environmental cleanliness in order to maintain a comprehensive health.
“People must be aware of the importance of clean, healthy, and complete food to support the growth and development of children at home,” Arzeti said.
Arzeti said MBG was President Prabowo’s priority program in realizing the Indonesian golden generation. He asked for community support so that this program could run optimally throughout the region.
HR Policy Analyst of the Deputy for Monitoring & Supervision of Bgn Moch Halim said that MBG was part of the national strategy in realizing the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045 as stipulated in Asta Cita.
This program is focused on fulfilling the nutrition of children and vulnerable groups, including toddlers, pregnant women, and nursing mothers.
“In addition to increasing nutritional intake, MBG also encourages local economic growth through the formation of a healthy kitchen or Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG),” Halim explained.
Interestingly, this SPPG kitchen not only functions as a center for nutritious food distribution, but also a source of employment for the surrounding community. Kitchen operations are recruited from local residents to support the program while increasing economic welfare.
