New Expert Appears Amidst Jokowi Diploma Polemic, Kagama Chair Says Bonatua: Don’t Just Look for a Stage

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The controversy over the diploma of the 7th President, Jokowi, heated up again after the Roy Suryo Cs camp presented Bonatua Silalahi as an expert in the trial, Wednesday (11/2/2026).

As is known, Bonatua previously said that research is not a profession, but rather a skill.

He emphasized that during his doctoral or doctoral education, he had taken dozens of credits in scientific research courses.

For him, it was proof that academically he was a researcher.

Bonatua Has the Potential to Slow Down the Legal Process

However, this statement drew a response from the Chairman of Kagama Cirebon Raya, Heru Subagia.

Heru said that if Bonatua’s new findings were used as a reference in this case, it would have the potential to slow down or even delay the ongoing legal process.

“The legal process will be postponed if the new findings from Bonatua are used as a new reference,” said Heru to dawn.co.id, Wednesday (11/2/2026).

He mentioned the fact that Roy Suryo had previously concluded that the level of similarity between the KPU’s version of the diploma document and Jokowi’s diploma data uploaded by Dian Sandi from PSI reached more than 98 percent.

“In fact, Roy has concluded that the KPU’s version of the diploma is 98 percent the same as Jokowi’s diploma data uploaded by Sandi PSI,” he said.

There are differences between Roy Suryo Cs and Bonatua

Heru continued, Bonatua’s approach was also different from the Roy Suryo Cs team. Bonatua is said to come from the public policy discipline, while Roy Suryo Cs is known to have a digital forensics background.
