BNN no longer wants to catch drug user artist, Hera Lubis: If the people are tortured, squeezed, imprisoned

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) decided not to arrest narcotics users. Head of BNN Commissioner General Marthinus Hukom reasoned, the public spotlight on the arrest of the artist could actually backfire.

Marthinus also stated that he was not afraid of losing the attention of the community as a result of his decision. “We don’t need popularity to catch artists,” said Marthinus, Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Related to this, citizens on social media conveyed a sharp response. Many compare the reverse treatment of ordinary people who use drugs.

“The artist using drugs is considered a victim. The common people used drugs 1. Tortured, 2. Squeezed, 3. Palmed into prison. Meanwhile, the city was released/released from the death sentence,” wrote the social media activist Hera Lubis through his personal account at X, @heraloebss, quoted on Saturday (6/28/2025).

The tweet also received a response from netizens. Many were in a hot joint with the BNN policy.

“Sorry, the city only sells to the artist,” the citizens wrote in the comments column.
