FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The discourse of impeachment of Gibran from the position of Vice President is still a public concern.
Constitutional law expert, Zainal Arifin Mochtar, said that constitutionally, all requirements for the equalization of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka had been fulfilled.
The man who is familiarly called Uceng revealed that in a discussion forum titled “Towards the Making of Gibran: Until where did the DPR go?” which was held by Formappi, Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
“There are three foundations of impeachment in Article 7A and 7B of the 1945 Constitution: criminal, administrative, and despicable violations,” Zainal said launching the MSN website.
He highlighted the alleged corruption report posted by Ubedilah Badrun as a potential element of criminal violation. While from the administrative side, he said, the validity of documents such as diplomas is an important consideration.
“When it comes to despicable deeds? Oh my gosh, it’s already a lot. From Fufufafa to the practice of nepotism,” he said sharply.
According to him, in theory of law, impeachment of Gibran is very possible. But the political reality in the DPR becomes a barrier wall that is difficult to penetrate.
The right to express an opinion, as the initial stage of the impeachment process, can only be done if the majority of DPR members agreed.
“With the Prabowo-Gibran coalition that is still solid, I am pessimistic that the DPR will dare to start that step,” he explained.
Uceng also considered the Constitutional Court (MK), which has an important role in assessing violations of the vice presidential law, is not neutral.
“Sorry, I can no longer consider the Constitutional Court as a legal institution. For me, the Constitutional Court has become a political creature,” he said.
