Swear to change the fake Jokowi diploma but jailed using the ITE Law, Bambang Tri is now proposing PK

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Do you still remember the name Bambang Tri? His name was viral a few years ago because he revealed the Jokowi diploma which he called fake.

The Bambang Tri case began when he was present at the official Youtube channel Podcast Gus Nur 13 Official, owned by Sugi Nur Rahardja alias Gus Nur.

In the show, Bambang openly stated that President Joko Widodo’s diploma was fake. He even took an oath to convincing the public that his accusations were true.

The statement was then reported by a resident, Dodo Ahmad Baidlowi, who considered that the accusation had defamed and had the potential to divide the community.

PN Solo sentenced Bambang with a sentence of six years in prison. However, in the appeal and cassation process, the sentence was then cut into four years by the High Court.

Bambang Tri has undergone a period of detention for approximately two years related to cases of hate speech, violations of the Information and Electronic Transaction Law (ITE Law).

Now, Bambang Tri Mulyono, again took legal steps. He submitted PK to the Supreme Court (MA). This PK was submitted by Bambang through the Solo District Court (PN).

Bambang’s attorney, Pardiman said that the PK was submitted based on a number of legal considerations that were considered quite strong, including the revision of the ITE Law by the Constitutional Court (MK) and the discovery of Novum or new evidence.

“We submit PK requests on the basis that there are changes in legal norms in the ITE Law, especially regarding defamation, which has been revised by the Court. In addition, we also have novum, or new evidence that has never been submitted in the previous trial,” explained Pardiman, reported from Radar Solo, Thursday (6/26/2025)
