Purbaya Children Accuse 80 Percent of Indonesian Officials of Corruption, Ary Prasetyo: Wrong, but 90 Percent

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — A controversial statement came from Yudo Achilles Sadewa, son of the Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudi Sadewa.

In a live broadcast with YouTuber Bigmo, Yudo openly criticized the behavior of officials in Indonesia, which he said was full of corrupt practices.

Responding to this, social media activist, Ary Prasetyo, said that the figures conveyed by Yudo were still too low.

“Wrong. Not 80 percent, but 90 percent,” said Ary on X @Ary_PrasKe2 (25/12/2025).

In the live streaming, Yudo said that most public officials were not clean in carrying out their duties.

He said that corrupt practices were entrenched and involved almost all levels of the power elite.

Previously, the son of the Indonesian Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, or who is familiarly called Yudo Sadewa, again made a blunt statement regarding bureaucratic practices in Indonesia.

In a live streaming with YouTuber Bigmo, Yudo assessed that the majority of officials in the country were involved in corruption.

“Almost all officials are corrupt, almost 80 percent of officials are definitely corrupt. They’re all thieves here,” said Yudo on Thursday (25/12/2025).

He emphasized that corruption is not always synonymous with theft of state money.

“Corruption is not just money, it can also be corruption of time or corruption of all kinds. Corruption of facilities,” he added.

Apart from that, Yudo criticized the large budget for meetings and official travel which he said was not always efficient.

“The most annoying thing, I think, is that’s why you cut the budget. Meetings that are not clear must be cut,” he said.
