The verdict trial in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chromebook laptops and Chrome Device Management (CDM) with the defendant Ibrahim Arief alias Ibam will be held next week. Ibam was a consultant at the Ministry of Education and Culture when procuring Chromebooks.
“The panel of judges needs time to formulate this decision and has postponed the reading of the decision for two weeks, namely May 12 2026,” said chairman of the panel of judges Purwanto S Abdullah at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday (28/4/2026).
The judge said the panel still had to focus on completing the evidence in the Chromebook case involving the defendant, former Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Anwar Makarim. The judge took two weeks to deliberate to determine Ibam’s verdict in this case.
“That’s all, please understand because we still have a lot to resolve besides this problem,” said the judge.
In a trial held on Thursday (16/4), Ibam was sentenced to 15 years in prison, a fine of IDR 1 billion, subsidiary to 190 days in prison. The prosecutor also demanded that Ibam pay compensation of Rp. 16.92 billion, subsidiary to 7 years and 6 months in prison.
The prosecutor believes that Ibam is guilty of violating Article 603 jo. Article 20 of the Criminal Code jo. Article 18 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001.
The burdensome thing about the defendants’ claims is that they do not support the government’s program of running a country that is clean and free from Corruption, Collusion and Nepotism (KKN). “The mitigating factor is that the defendants have never been punished,” said the prosecutor at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court, Thursday (16/4).
Ibam was designated as a city prisoner because he has a history of chronic heart disease. Ibam has been attached to an electronic device (detector) to monitor its movements.
“The suspect IBAM has been installed. We have a device called a bracelet to detect where the person concerned is. He’s not being detained temporarily because he’s sick, he’s a city prisoner,” said Head of the Attorney General’s Penkum Anang Supriatna to journalists at the Attorney General’s Office Complex, South Jakarta, Thursday (17/7/2025).

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
