FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The name Dadan Hindayana was suddenly crowded into public discussion. The figure who now serves as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is being highlighted as the crowd of criticism of the Free Nutritious Eating Program (MBG), one of the priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto.
Through Presidential Decree No. 94P in 2024, President Joko Widodo officially inaugurated Dadan Hindayana as Head of BGN on August 19, 2024. He became the first official to lead the new institution, which was born based on Presidential Regulation No. 83 of 2024.
As the leader of BGN, Dadan received a big mandate, overseeing the implementation of national priority programs in the field of food and nutrition, including MBG which is now the public spotlight.
But now the public is furious because in the midst of the number of students who are poisoned MBG, Dadan actually said the case of poisoning is still within reasonable limits, with 4,711 servings from 1 billion servings that have been presented for nine months.
Not a few cases of mass poisoning allegedly sourced from the MBG menu make people wonder: Who exactly is Dadan Hindayana?
Interestingly, the educational background is not precisely from the world of nutrition, but an entomology or science of insects. He recorded education at the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) with a focus on plant protection.
