Called Beyond Limits, Arif Wicaksono Reveals How Jokowi Uses Power for the Benefits of His Family

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Political, economic and social activist, Arif Wicaksono, talks about how the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo alias Jokowi, utilized and expanded his power while in office.

Arif said that the steps taken by Jokowi were considered to have exceeded the limits of propriety and ethics in national and state life.

He touched on how power is used not only for political interests, but also to strengthen the family’s position in circles of power.

“Jokowi’s method of increasing his wealth and power while in power really violates national propriety and ethics,” said Arif on social media X, @arifbaikpapan1, Monday (26/1/2026).

He revealed that the placement of family members in strategic positions does not only target children and in-laws, but also extends to the wider family circle.

In fact, he said, nephews were also brought in to fill important positions, including in state-owned enterprises (BUMN).

“Even his nephew was brought in to fill strategic positions in BUMN,” he said.

Arif also emphasized that the public should be alert because what is currently visible is believed to have not been fully revealed.

He said there were still various other deposits that were not yet known to the wider public.

“This does not include other deposits that the public does not yet know about,” Arif said.

Not stopping there, Arif satirized the pattern of power which according to him was built on the basis of blood and kinship relations.

He said that this practice violated the principles of meritocracy and justice in state governance.
