Finally arriving in Makassar, PSI cadres cheered: Jokowi, Jokowi, Jokowi

FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR — Indonesia’s 7th President, Jokowi, who is said to be Mr. J, finally arrived in Makassar City, Friday (30/1/2026) evening.

His arrival at the Claro Hotel was greeted enthusiastically by thousands of Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) cadres who had packed the hotel area since afternoon.

Based on monitoring by dawn.co.id at the location, Jokowi arrived at around 21.17 WITA.

The father of the General Chair of the PSI DPP, Kaesang Pangarep, appeared relaxed wearing a brown batik shirt combined with a white Nike brand hat.

As soon as he got out of the vehicle, the atmosphere immediately turned noisy.

Cheers of “Jokowi, Jokowi, Jokowi” echoed from the PSI cadres who stood in rows along the hotel entrance.

Shouts of “Light up Makassar” accompanied Jokowi’s steps as he approached the main door of the Claro Hotel.

In the midst of the crowd of supporters, Jokowi appeared to stop several times to accommodate requests for group photos.

The cadres took turns capturing the moment of the arrival of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Tight security was visible throughout Jokowi’s arrival. Police officers together with internal hotel security officers are on guard at a number of points to ensure the situation remains conducive.

After greeting the cadres and taking a group photo, Jokowi was then directed to the Sunachi restaurant at the Claro Hotel.

He is scheduled to enjoy dinner before taking part in a series of agendas for the PSI National Working Meeting (Rakernas) which will take place on Saturday (31/1/2026).

Jokowi’s presence in Makassar was part of PSI’s official invitation to the National Working Meeting agenda.
