FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The acts of terror experienced by a number of influencers who were seen to be vocal in criticizing the handling of the flash flood and landslide disasters in Sumatra caught the attention of many parties. Moreover, the victim had complained about the problems he was facing to the police.
Regarding this, the Minister of Human Rights (HAM), Natalius Pigai, spoke out regarding the alleged terror experienced by a number of influencers after expressing criticism of the handling of the disaster.
Regarding disaster management in Sumatra, Pigai emphasized that the government has shown seriousness through systematic, massive and planned real work. He said the government was carrying out two main stages, namely emergency response and infrastructure development, as part of the recovery of affected communities.
“Everyone certainly knows and has seen that almost every week the President comes to Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra,” said Pigai, Friday (2/1).
Pigai strongly rejects all forms of framing that corner the government as the perpetrator of terror without legal basis and valid evidence. He emphasized that if there is terror, then the perpetrator is not a state or government actor.
However, Pigai emphasized that the government still respects the critical and democratic attitude of anyone, including influencers.
“So that criticism is conveyed responsibly, based on facts, and not manipulated solely for the sake of popularity,” he said.
However, regarding allegations of terror, Pigai emphasized that every allegation of terror must be addressed seriously through applicable legal mechanisms.
