Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) emphasized that the distribution of Temporary Direct Cash Assistance (BLTS) will continue nationally until 24.00 on 31 December 2025, including in all disaster-affected areas such as Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
This was conveyed by Gus Ipul when directly observing the distribution of BLTS with Plt. President Director of PT Pos Indonesia Haris at the Cikini Post Office, Central Jakarta, today.
Until the end of December 2025, verified beneficiary data reached more than 33 million beneficiary families (KPM). BLTS distribution is carried out in stages through the Association of State Banks (Himbara) and PT Pos Indonesia.
“There are 18 million beneficiary families going through PT. Pos, the remaining around 17 million is distributed through Himbara. This continues to work, even on holidays. PT. Pos has tried to continue distributing for the last 2 months and until now this continues until tonight,” said Gus Ipul in a written statement, Wednesday (31/12/2025).
He also appreciated PT Pos Indonesia for continuing to carry out BLTS distribution in the midst of disaster conditions. Gus Ipul said the distribution level in the affected areas had exceeded 80 percent with achievements in Aceh at 88.8 percent, North Sumatra 81.84 percent, and West Sumatra 83.99 percent.
“I am grateful, PT. Pos continues to work even in disaster areas. So in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra, PT. Pos continues to distribute BLTS, even now it has reached more than 80 percent,” he said.
On this occasion, Gus Ipul reiterated that data accuracy is the key to successful distribution of aid so that it is right on target. Over the past year, the government, at the direction of President Prabowo Subianto, has continued to update data through collaboration with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Ministry of Social Affairs, and regional governments (Pemda).
Data updating is carried out every three months through formal tiered channels, starting from RT and RW, sub-district or village, to Regional Government, before being processed by BPS. Apart from that, the Ministry of Social Affairs is also opening channels for public participation through the Cek Bansos application, the 021-171 call center service which operates 24 hours, and the WhatsApp service which will open in early January.
“The more channels we open, the more people will participate and we hope that if this is done consistently, we are sure we will get more accurate data,” said Gus Ipul.
During the review, Gus Ipul also had direct dialogue with the beneficiaries. He said that most of the BLTS recipients were new families who had never previously received regular social assistance such as the Family Hope Program (PKH) or basic food program assistance.
“We want to see the profile, we want to see whether the latest data matches the reality on the ground. Thank God, in general we can see that those who are admitted to this office seem to really fit the criteria that have been set,” he said.
In 2025, the government will significantly increase the social assistance budget allocation. The number of BLTS recipients was expanded from the original 18 million KPM to around 35 million KPM, with the total budget increasing from around IDR 74 trillion to more than IDR 110 trillion.
Gus Ipul hopes that the expansion of assistance can help increase people’s purchasing power, encourage economic growth, and accelerate the graduation of beneficiary families towards independence and no longer depend on social assistance.
One of the BLTS recipients, Sobari (69), a resident of Kwitang, Senen District, Central Jakarta, who works as a duco paint service provider every day, said he was grateful to have received assistance.
“Earlier, I received IDR 900 thousand. Thank God, I’m lucky. (Moreover) consumers rarely repair their vehicles during this season,” said Sobari.
Meanwhile, Haris explained that distribution was still being carried out even though there were operational obstacles in the disaster-affected areas. In Aceh Tamiang, there are three Sub-Branch Post Offices (KCP) which cannot yet operate due to transportation and electricity problems.
“Especially in Aceh Tamiang, there are three of our KCPs that have not been operational until now, and there are indeed problems with transportation and electricity facilities to the area. We make payments at our three branch offices manually, so my friends came to the location to pay them,” concluded Haris.
