FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR – Makassar City continues to show its appeal as an investment magnet in the Eastern Indonesia region. The realization of investment in 2024 reached Rp38.8 trillion, and in the first semester 2025 had touched Rp33 trillion.
“It is very important that the role of financial institutions as the main pillar of economic growth as well as amplifiers of the MSME sector,” this was conveyed, the Mayor of Makassar, Munafri Arifuddin, when opening the 2025 Financial Expo (Finexpo), as a series of financial inclusion months (BIK) held (4/10/2025).
In his remarks, Munafri stressed the importance of financial literacy for the community. According to him, there are still many residents who do not understand how to access financial institutions appropriately. This often leads to social problems to legal issues.
“Many say money is easy to get, but the fact is difficult to find. Errors in accessing financial institutions can be fatal,” he said.
“Therefore, I really hope that the community will use this event to ask questions and explore knowledge from the financial institutions present,” Appi continued.
He appreciated the steps of OJK and all elements of financial services involved in this activity. According to him, good financial education will help the community wiser in managing finances while strengthening the regional economy.
The former PSM boss emphasized the strategic role of financial institutions in encouraging the growth of MSMEs in Makassar.
